May Update

If I were to pick one word to describe our past month, I would choose the word “babies”. We did a lot more that just deliver babies in May, but it felt like we were delivering a baby every other day. We had a total of seventeen births at our clinic in May. The most we have had since I have been here is thirteen in one month, so this month felt like a lot.

This past Thursday evening into Friday morning we had a total of four babies born at the clinic. During the day Thursday we had two ladies who were in the beginning stages of labor. During the day two other ladies in labor walked in to the clinic. I was back and forth from clinic in the afternoon and evening. Then Stan, Charity, and I went down at 7:30 PM for the long haul. We set up four birthing trays and got everything we could ready. Autumn brought coffee down for us after her boys were in bed and offered her help. Charity and Autumn each sat with a lady while I went back and forth between the ladies. Stan was ready to help with the babies as soon as they were born. Thankfully the births were spaced out very well. The first baby boy was born around 9 PM and mom and baby were well situated before the second baby boy was born around 12:30 AM. The two remaining ladies were still laboring. A little after 2 AM a baby girl was born. We had just enough time to clean them up before the final baby girl was born around 3 AM. It took us a bit to clean everything up and we made sure to get a picture with all four babies before we walked back from the clinic after 4 AM on Friday morning. We were very thankful for four healthy babies and moms.

God has been faithful to protect us and give us strength when we needed this past month. He is working in our everyday dealings with people and doing things we cannot see. I am amazed again and again that He chooses to use us for His glory even though we are broken humans. Thank you for your prayers, we need them and appreciate them. May God bless each one of you.
