New Little One

Thursday night at 11:30 this little one was born.  It was a first time mom so it was a longer labor–making it also a longer process for us nurses who were keeping an eye on things.  She had come to the clinic mid day Wednesday.  So after a many watchful hours and back and forth […]

An Afternoon’s Activities

We saw around 50 patients at clinic this morning.  Finally the last dossier was made, the last consultation done, and the last pills handed out.  Now it’s time to head home for lunch! Or is it?  Here comes a crowd of school children, and one girl is holding something over her head.  They are headed

This morning a lady in labor came into the clinic on a stretcher. After about an hour or so, a baby girl entered the world! I was reminded of the miracle of each new baby that comes into the world!! The baby weighed 4 Lbs. 3 oz.

Emergency Run To. . .

We had another safe birth just a few days ago. The mother came in I think on Tues just as clinic was finishing. We gave her a bed in the hospital room, and keep checking on her. Labor was slow, but later evening it picked up. Her baby girl was born just after 11 pm,

More on the babies

Well, the first baby was born around 7:30 pm. It was a little boy. He was born with the cord around his neck, and it took some suctioning and stimulating to get him to breathe. Yes, I’ve delivered quite a few babies, but that is still scary. Thankfully he was soon breathing well. He weighed

Babies

Right now I have two ladies in labor at the clinic. (Michael and Virginia are out for the weekend so it’s up to the Haitian nurses and I.) Last Sat was crazy with emergencies too, and this one hasn’t proved a lot different. I’m expecting a call about any time again that I need to
